Needle Felted Art
Working from her studio at The Beach House in Dungarvan, County Waterford, Pippa creates her needle-felted art. Although the Irish landscape is a major source of inspiration, she also loves to work playfully as seen in her character faces and ‘foody’ felts!
Needle felting is a technique of shaping wool using finely barbed needles. Wool fibres have small scales and as these fibres are pushed together using these needles, they interlock, mesh and condense, forming shapes. Decoration can be added to the surface of these shapes using finer needles.
Pippa is a member of the Design and Craft Council of Ireland, has a Masters in Illustration and studied needle felting in Denmark. To see more about Pippa’s felting please visit www.pippasweeney.info.
All needle felted artworks are framed in quality limed wooden frames, come boxed and are signed by the artist.
External frame dimension is 285 x 285 x 45 mm
